September greetings from Mrs. Moore
Welcome to all our new and returning families -- and a heartfelt thank you to all the parents who helped get the school cleaned up and looking great! We are so excited to get this year started and are looking forward to getting to know our new friends.
The 4s class will spend the first few days making new friends and getting reacquainted with their old buddies. We will talk about the importance of friendships and how we should treat one another. We will also discuss how different and unique we all are and how wonderful that is! The children will also make a book entitled "All About Me." We will learn songs, poems and read stories with all these themes in mind. We will also review inside and outside safety rules and learn a little about those pesky yellow jackets that seem to be everywhere this time of year.
In the 3s class the children will be busy making new friends and learning the routine of the day. Each child will be given a few responsibilities such as learning to take turns, share, clean, pick up after an activity, helping at snack time, and much more. You would be amazed how fast these little ones pick up the routine!
In the first few weeks, the 3s will have fun learning to recognize and experience colors and shapes through all kinds of different activities. Art is always a highlight to most children. It gives them a chance to express themselves freely and to use their imaginations. Treating each creation with a special interest and taking the time to talk to your child about his or her art will open up a great conversation and give them a sense of value. Also, displaying their art gives them a sense of accomplishment.
We're so happy to welcome new and returning families to our wonderful preschool and look forward to the adventures of the year ahead.
